Photograph: Red and Blue

This image struck me because of the color combination and the multiple patterns. Even with all of those things going on, in this crowded space, the blue figurines and dresser top hold down a clear focal point and the rest anchor the photo. The colors red and blue keep the whole piece cohesive even with all the patterns.

I like the color manipulation that heightens the saturation of her hair and makeup making her almost alien. The style is very glamorous, bold and almost confrontational because of how close the camera is and the model is looking directly at the audience.

I am drawn to the dramatic, high contrast lighting of the image. The light draws the eye upward to the solitary lamp post which is the focal of the whole image. The high contrast of the black white breaks real world objects into shapes making the focus composition.

I like how the two images are mirrored. The lighting is very bright and the skin smoothed so that the reflections make them look like plastic. They are toy-like even though they are real people because of this and the tone set up by the graphics at the bottom.
